Ashes to Ashes, A powerful musical memorial to September 11,
For Orchestra, String Orchestra or Wind Ensemble with Recorded Testimony

Ashes to Ashes weaves live ensemble performance with the recorded voices of survivors and witnesses.  Drs. Anne and Steve Berman visited NYC in the months immediately following the attacks and captured these personal memories.

As we approach the 25th anniversary of 9/11, the work offers a profound opportunity for today’s students—most of whom were not yet born—to engage emotionally and historically with this defining moment through music.

Performances become acts of remembrance, reflection, and dialogue across generations.

DIFFERENTIATOR Each ensemble participates in shaping a premiere version of the work—adapted to their students, instrumentation, and program.
